Messiah Lutheran Church Council Minutes
(these minutes will be approved at the April council meeting)
March 10, 2021
Council Members present: Pastor Amy Truhe, Kirsten Bruce, Linda Lewis, Mary Lindgren, Muriel Gentine, Robert Peterson, Ingrid Pohl, Sharon Bruce. Absent: Warren Olson, Becky Anderson.
Opening Prayer & Devotions: Pastor Amy Truhe
Reports:
Secretary: Motion to approve minutes of the February 17, 2021 meeting. M/S/C.
Treasurer: M/S/C to accept the Treasurer’s report as presented
Pastor: see written report – planning services for Holy Week and making palm crosses.
Potential for a 6-week mission trip to Israel.
Old Business:
Congregational connections – held planning session
Foretaste and Feast – We will recognize the Seniors on April 25 during worship and serve
a drive-by dinner and decorated cupcakes following the service at 11:30.
IT person – Suggested names for this endeavor are: Ida Rencher, Dwight Ford, Galina and Tyler B.
New Business:
Director of Music: Accepted the resignation of Mark Lucas. A prospective director has inquired
about the position.
Youth Ministry: Accepted the resignation of Jeanne Lucas. This ministry will be under the Christian
Education committee. At this time, Pastor Amy will work with Erika Lysell, BLC.
Ingrid Pohl has found a scavenger hunt for youth and families. This will be put
on the trail during Holy Week to include the Lindsborg community.
Spring Clean-up: A workday is planned for April 17 for inside and outside property.
Treasures (Rummage) Sale: Plans are in the making to host a sale of “Treasures” in June. Date is
TBD. 10% of profits will go to Luther Legacy Scholarships.
Easter Egg Hunt: Discussed the possibility of having a drive-by Easter Egg Hunt. Mary Lindgren will
follow up with the Christian Education committee.
April 13: Campus Ministry drive-by Pancake Feed from 5:00 – 6:30
